Veronica sat perched against the club wall, her arms crossed defiantly across her chest as she drummed her fingers against her bare arm as her boss yelled at her for not following through on her last hit. She could barely hear him over the roar of the music as he screamed, red in the face, calling her words that would make Satan blush. “Look,” She hissed. “I did the best I could. I killed the friend, killed the mom, and pretty much destroyed her life. She’s in a freaking mental hospital! That’s almost worse than death,” Veronica scoffed as she flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder. He screamed at the top of his lungs, infuriated as he vanished into a ball of fire and smoke. The club was so crowded that no one noticed and more people just filled the newly empty space, many attempting to dance with the relatively young demon. Her fingers toyed with the golden locket that hung from her neck as she pondered her next move. She didn’t want to start with the slayer just yet. Maybe the other, more dangerous one, just to send a message. She knew that was the other one’s target, but she could just toy with the rebel for a little bit, maybe to just shake her up or send a warning. Veronica knew her bosses didn’t mind a little extra credit. She peeled herself off the wall and forced her way through the thick crowd, almost unable to move. As she reached the outs of the mass of people, she felt a slight tap on her shoulder. Veronica swiftly turned around, looking inquisitively at the stranger. outfit: click!

Angel had been back in England for a while now he thought that this is now his home and after talking to the watchers council though tonight he was on patrol. Walking into the popular club he noticed how paced it was though it wasn’t surprising being a popular club and all. Angel’s eyes scanned the dance floor he was looking for anything that may prey for human life though he didn’t spot anything at the dance floor. Angel stayed at the back of the club though were he was situated he could see everything that was happening in the club. His eyes fell upon a woman talking to another figure at the club they seemed to be having an argument. Angel watched as the unknown figure vanished it seemed that tonight he found what he was looking for after all.
Angel decided that this was the perfect time to move now and to make his presence known to the woman he now believed to be a demon walking through the crowd of people towards the woman. Raising his hand he tapped her shoulder letting himself be known to her. Angel leaned forward and whispered in her ear. “Working late are we? Names Angel; I know what you are saw you speaking to your friend.” Angel whispered so only Veronica could here and everyone else in the club couldn’t due to the loud music and all. Angel stood still waiting for Veronica’s response before he did anything more h had to get her outside before he really let lose. Angel wondered what Veronica’s next move will be.

Veronica stared at the handsome man for a second before sighing, threading her fingers through her blonde hair. She motioned with her head to the door that lead outside to the balcony, wanting to discuss this in a more private area. Leading him out the door to the small area, she shut the doors behind them, enjoying the refreshing breeze that helped wash away the heat that came from all of those people in the club. “He’s not my friend.” She said as she crossed her arms and leaned against the iron railing, her blonde hair flowing in the night breeze. She was definitely getting a vibe off of the man, most likely a vampire, but he was different than the others.
“He’s just an…” Veronica wanted to say boss, but she didn’t think that would look good for her, having a man like that in her employment. “Acquaintance. One who wasn’t very happy that I wouldn’t go around to his way of thinking.” She said with a soft smile on her face. “I’m Veronica. And the handsome man in front of me would be…?” She trailed off, questioning the name of the man who seemed to be very inquisitive about her whereabouts, which was understandable.

Angel watched as Veronica starred at him for a moment he looked at the door leading to a balcony. Angel looked back to the crowd of people then to Veronica he then decided to follow her to the outside balcony it was better than a dark alleyway after all and plus the people inside the club wouldn’t see anything maybe if someone was looking up but Angel doubted if that would happen in the first place. Angel listened to Veronica as she explained her story though he did see her acquaintance disappear in a blink of an eye so Angel thought that he must have teleported from the club.
Angel looked back at Veronica he could tell that she was demon but he didn’t know what kind of demon she was. “An acquaintance right.” Angel trailed of his sentence as he starred at Veronica for a moment. “Angel.” Angel explained as he gave out his name to Veronica he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall as he waited for the next move he wasn’t sure if there was going to be a fight but Angel wanted to be ready for anything. Angel watched Veronica carefully as he waited for a response from her.

Veronica smiled and nodded. “Name suits the face, cute.” She said flirtatiously as she gave a tiny shiver from the cold air, but she’d much rather be out here than in the compact club. Angel’s name sounded vaguely familiar, but she couldn’t quite put a finger on it. All she had done for the last half-century was stalk Buffy, so she couldn’t have heard about him unless he was heavily involved in her life or the supernatural world. He seemed to be a smart vampire, which meant that he was probably pretty old. The new ones were always careless and were killed quickly, only the smart ones were able to survive.
Veronica didn’t know why she was so interested in Angel. The last person she had ever felt remotely attracted to was Jimmy, and the only reason she was a demon was because of him. If she succeeded in killing the slayer then they could both go back to being kids again, maybe she could go back to being plain old Mary Lane. God, she hadn’t thought about her old name in ages. She could still picture the way she used to look with her hair in curls with her poodle skirt. It seemed like forever ago and she still wished that she could go back to that time.

Angel laughed at Veronica’s comment about his name. Angel watched Veronica for a moment before his eyes fall upon the door he thought he herd the door handle move but he guessed that someone from the other side of the door had knocked it or something. Angel turned away from the door to look upon Veronica. “What can I say the name grew on me.” Angel grinned as he replied to Veronica though he wondered what she was doing here was she actually working on attacking a human or having the night off Angel wasn’t entirely sure on the answer but before the night ended he would find out one way of the other Angel would know.
Angel snapped back to reality as his eyes fell upon Veronica she had a strange look on her face and something told Angel that Veronica was flirting with him it was the way she spoke before about his name. “So what’s a girl like you doing out at this place with an old friend who can disappear in the blink of an eye.” Angel asked Veronica hopping to get a straight answer from her though knowing demons and all he wouldn’t. Angel placed his hands inside his jean pockets as he waited for a response from Veronica.

Veronica shrugged her left shoulder. “Waiting for a sexy vampire to rescue me?” She said with a crooked smile, the one she used to bait men into getting information out of them. This time however, the smile was genuine and she was truly flirting with him. She didn’t know what was coming over her. Never since her beloved Jimmy had her heart skipped a beat just thinking about him. She knew that it was insanity, but she just felt drawn to Angel, stronger than anything she had felt in a very long time. For so long, Veronica had just been made of marble inside, and in a couple of minutes he had broken it into a modern version of what she used to be.
Veronica stepped towards Angel’s side and leaned against the wall beside him. “Once again: he’s not my friend.” She softly smiled. “I was just looking to blow off some steam and he tried me to join him on getting some impressionable teens to worship him. You know, usual demon stuff.” She flipped her hair behind her shoulder as she turned her head to meet his beautiful brown eyes. “So Angel, what brings a guy like you to a club like this?” She guessed that he was one of the very rare vampires who were strictly vegetarian.

Angel grinned at Veronica’s comment he walked over towards the railing to have a look at the ground before him he noticed a few people leaving the club and a couple of cars passing by after looking out from the railing he turned away from the outside world to look back to Veronica. Angel noticed Veronica smile back at him after she told him what she was doing out here though Angel wasn’t entirely sure that she was telling the truth or not. “And what if you came across said sexy vampire?” Angel asked in reply he couldn’t believe that he was flirting back with Veronica even so the night was young and he had all the time in the world to get his answers from Veronica.
Angel walked back towards were Veronica sat he listened to Veronica speak as she explained once again the figure wasn’t her friend though Angel wasn’t fully convinced but then again she might be telling the truth about that one Angel had to have some more time to figure it out. “I can understand that.” Angel replied even so Veronica might not be evil; she could be good like he was stuff like that happened all the time though Angel had been wrong before. “On patrol looking for evil you wouldn’t know were I might find evil now would you.” Angel asked smiling.

Veronica softly laughed. “Not a clue,” She said, almost honestly. She herself wasn’t exactly evil, just a good person caught up in a bad job. She blushed as she looked up at Angel and threaded her fingers through her hair. “You’re making me blush. I’m sure your girlfriend wouldn’t like the fact that I was flirting with you. She’s probably blonde, petite, cute but with an acid wit.” She knew she was sort of describing herself, but she could have been Angel’s type, you never knew. She felt like kissing Angel, but she thought that would be a little inappropriate; plus, he could still have a girlfriend who could be really jealous right now.
Veronica’s crystal blue eyes looked out over the balcony, seeing some people leave the club but quite a few more coming in. It was not hard to see that this was the most popular club in town. She could see that they were beginning to bring out the bouncers now, which was a good thing because it meant that the club could get a little less compact. Her skin got shivers when her arm grazed his, but she just ignored it. She tried to focus on the conversation and not on the brooding vampire beside her.
